AdGuard Home

Networking

Network-wide ad and tracker blocking with a clean web interface.

AdGuard Home is a network-wide DNS server that blocks ads, trackers and malicious domains for every device on your network, without installing anything on them. You point your router or devices at it, and it answers DNS queries, filtering them with blocklists you choose. It has a clean web interface with statistics, a searchable query log, per-client settings, parental control and safe search options, custom filtering rules, and support for encrypted DNS such as DNS-over-HTTPS. It is a popular alternative to Pi-hole and to paid filtered-DNS services.

Resource footprint
256 MB RAM · 1 CPU
Measured on 2026-10-22 on v0.107.79 in a Proxmox LXC (1 vCPU, 512 MB RAM). With the default AdGuard DNS filter loaded (about 190,000 rules) one instance used about 80 to 90 MB of RAM and the whole container sat at about 180 MB. In a fresh test instance, 201 DNS queries from one client were answered in about 3 ms on average and 28% of our mixed list of normal and ad or tracker domains were blocked. The install folder is about 235 MB. It is very light and fine for a Raspberry Pi.

Deployment

# Official Docker image. We run AdGuard Home natively in an LXC (installed with
# the community-scripts Proxmox helper), so we have not tested this exact snippet.
# Port 53 must be free on the host (stop systemd-resolved's stub listener if needed).
# Open http://<host>:3000 once for the setup wizard, then use port 80.
